Whether you have attended church your whole life, or are brand new to the church experience, you will find that Haitian Church of the Nazarene – Friends of the Humble welcomes you to join us on a journey to know Jesus Christ personally, to grow in His Word and apply it to our lives in real ways, and to show Christ’s love wherever we are! We invite you to explore and connect with the ministries offered to you and your family at Haitian Church of the Nazarene – Friends of the Humble!
Sunday School
Our Sunday School meets every Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. The students are divided into 6 groups ranging from Candidates to Baptism to children under 13 years old. Here is how our classes are laid down:
Candidates to Baptism
This class provides the fundamentals of the Christian faith as a preparation for one of the most important decisions of the Christian life (journey).
Adult Elderly Women
The education in this class is tailored to help understand the Bible at a reasonable pace. We make sure that the teaching method takes into account their ability to learn.
Women (under 50 years old)
We believe that women are important in God’s eyes and are vital in His kingdom. We believe in unity within diversity and cooperation and caring through the inspiration and power of the Holy Spirit. We believe that our women should feel refreshed, encouraged, and loved!
Men
The purpose of this class is to assist and encourage all men of our church to enrich their lives and Christian walk through a variety of opportunities. These opportunities include not only activities that provide for receiving encouragement, camaraderie, and spiritual support, but also those that provide support, outreach, and service to the many other ministries within our church and community.
Youth (ages 14-24)
We believe our youth can change the world. We’re committed to helping students flourish in their spiritual journey as they engage in God’s purpose to seek, serve and save what was lost.
Children (ages 1 to 13)
Children are our future. And they’re the future of the church. Here at Friends of the Humble we have created a safe, fun, engaging atmosphere where kids can learn of Christ’s love. Through Biblically-based learning and activities we aim to encourage and strengthen our kids to be a light within their homes, schools and community.
A total of 11 monitors are recruited to teach the classes. Currently we have approximately 168 people enrolled in Sunday School activities.
Sunday School activities close in July and reopen in September. Usually a closing ceremony is held every year.
